Inez "Iney" Burdette Alewine, age 78, of 212 Manley Drive, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2016, at AnMed Health Medical Center with her family by her side. Born on May 28, 1938, in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Marshall Chevis Burdette and the late Lizzie Edge Burdette. She was retired after many years from the Bobbie Dan Manufacturing Company in Anderson. Inez was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Marie Alewine of Anderson; two sisters, Louise Cobb of Anderson and Peggy Powell of Hampton, VA; two nieces, Melissa Upton and Kathy Stancil, both of Anderson. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Alewine was preceded in death by her husband, the late Dewey E. Alewine; three brothers, Bob, R. C., and Robert Burdette; and a sister, Ruby Burdette. The funeral service will be held at the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Ray Grant officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home from 12 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2016.
