Inez Sutherland Arflin, 91 of Anderson, SC, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother went home to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, November 6, 2021, at her residence. Born, in Anderson, April 1, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Ernest Henry Sutherland and the late Eloise Whitfield Sutherland. She was married to the late George F. Arflin. She worked at the Haynesworth Plant in Anderson for 29 years. After her retirement from the cloth room, she began caring for elderly ladies. Having been born during the Great Depression and one of 13 children, she learned early on the value of hard work, honesty, compassion, helping others, and faith. The same values she taught her children. She loved to cook. She never knew how many may grace her table, but she always had plenty. No one was ever turned away and no one left hungry. Sundays were her favorite day of the week. A chance to relax with her family and friends and to worship her Lord. She was a member of the Wellington Pentecostal Holiness Church and attended faithfully. She is survived by daughters, Brenda Deal, Patsy Getsinger, Pam Capps, Cathey Arflin and Georgia Shirley all of Anderson and Cindy Adams of Rock Hill; son, Allen Arflin of Anderson; grandson raised in the home, Shon Harper; 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; sister, Margaret Stanton of Cheraw, SC; and special friends, Wanda Burdette White and Glenda Hamby. In addition to her husband and parents, is preceded in death by sons Larry Joe Arflin and Michael Arflin; grandson raised in the home, Tony Harper; grandson, Elton Laney; sisters Sara Smith, Barbara Broadwell, Lois Adams, Icie McClain, Elizabeth Sutherland, and Mary Adams of Anderson; and brothers, Bud, Wallie, Vollie, Tollie, and Edward Sutherland of Anderson. The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 9, 2021 from 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm at the McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm at the chapel with the Rev. Vernon Soles officiating.
