INEZ PARKER DEAN Inez Sara Parker Dean, age 93, of Anderson, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2014, at Rainey Hospice House. Born in Anderson on February 24, 1921, she was the daughter of the late James T. Parker and the late Pearl Williams Parker Yon. Mrs. Dean was the loving and devoted wife of the late Leon Hembree Dean until his death in 1991. She was retired from Owens Corning Fiberglass after many years of employment. She was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of North Anderson Baptist Church. Survivors include a devoted son, Michael L. Dean of Anderson; 3 grandchildren, Jason Dean, his wife, Julie, Jamie Dean all of Charlotte, NC, and Katie Dean Walden and her husband Joe of Anderson; 2 great-grandchildren, Emma and Reid Walden of Anderson. In addition to her parents and husband, Leon, Mrs. Dean was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Parker Dean; 2 brothers, Wade and Harold Parker; and a sister Frances Parker Dunn. A funeral service to celebrate and honor the life of Mrs. Inez Dean will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home, with Rev. Bill Rigsby officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 10, 2014, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. The family would like to thank the staff of Ellenburg Nursing Center and Hospice of the Upstate for the excellent care and kindness given to Mrs. Dean during her residency.
