IRA "COTTON" DAVIS JR. March 31, 1935 - September 23, 2013 ANDERSON, SC Ira Barron Davis, Jr., age 78, of Anderson, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2013, at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Abbeville, SC, he was the son of the late Ira Barron Davis and the late Annie Mae Crawford Johnson. He worked for over 40 years at Peerless Mills and retired from Belton Industries. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great grandfather He is survived by a daughter, Judy McClain of Anderson, two grandchildren, Christy Ramsey and her husband Jerry, of Anderson and Randall Green and his wife Heather of Anderson; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; a brother-in-law, Vernon Callahan; and a sister-in-law, Louise Davis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Bell Cheek Davis; his step-father, Wilson Johnson; a brother, Clarence Davis; and a sister, Bertha Callahan. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Reverend Brian Jennings and Reverend Chris Matthews officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the home of Christy and Jerry Ramsey, 104 Pepper Drive, Belton and will receive friends at the funeral home, prior to the service on Thursday, from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM.
