James Ira Dominick, age 97, of Anderson, SC, devoted husband to the late Dorothy Bowers Dominick, passed away Thursday, June 17, 2021, at Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home.
Born August 30, 1923, in Newberry Co., SC, he was the son of the late Willie E. Dominick and Margaret Franklin Dominick.
Ira proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II and worked in textiles for Greenwood Mills-Joanna Plant until his retirement. He loved to fish, garden, and travel. He was a Mason and member of the Joanna Lodge.
He is survived by his children, Edith Dominick Hamilton (Jack) of Anderson, SC, and Furman Dominick (Susan) of Manning, SC; brother, Elbert Dominick of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Helen Dominick Morris of Lexington, SC; two grandchildren, Regina Broome (Chris) of Greenville, SC, and Johnny Murphy (Susan) of Anderson, SC; four great-grandchildren, Noah Broome and John Thomas Broome of Greenville, SC, and Austin Murphy and Kaden Murphy of Cocoa, FL; and close friend, Bianca Forte.
In addition to his parents, and loving wife Dorothy, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Claude, Ruby, Lester, Thomas, and William "Bob" Dominick.
A graveside service will be held Friday, June 25, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Pinelawn Memory Gardens in Clinton, SC.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Honduras Mission Team, Boulevard Baptist Church, 700 Boulevard, Anderson, SC 29621.
