Born in Munich, Germany, she was the daughter of George Schwangler and Anna Wimmbauer. At the conclusion of World War II, she moved to Great Falls, Montana where she became a US Citizen and met her husband to be. Their travels and adventures brought them to South Carolina where they lived for 40 years. After retiring from the continuing Education Department of Furman University, she became involved with the North American Mission Board and Campers on Missions which led her on mission trips throughout South Carolina and the U.S. Mrs. Motte was a member of Midway Baptist Church of Antreville, SC.Surviving are her husband of 50 years, Rev. William Clifford Motte, Sr., of the home; mother, Anna Kugler Wimmbauer of Great Falls, Montana; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Renay Motte of Anderson and David and Joy Motte of Weddington, NC; one brother, Gerhard Wimmbauer, three grandchildren, Chris Motte, Evan Motte and Corey Motte, all of Weddington, NC. Mrs. Motte was preceded in death by her father, George Schwangler; her step-father, John Wimmbauer and her granddaughter, Lauren Motte.She was passionate about her relationship with Christ and was an outstanding wife, mother and grandmother.
