James Frank Gilliland, age 90, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2016 at Rainey Hospice House. Born in Iva, SC on August 2, 1926, he was the son of the late James Frank Gilliland, Sr. and the late Sally Tucker Nelson. Frank proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII and was a member of the American Legion. After attending Clemson University, he worked in Maintenance Engineering at Owens-Corning Fiberglas where he retired after over 37 years of service. He also served on the Credit Committee and Board of Directors for Owens-Corning Fiberglas Credit Union for 50 years. Frank was a Shriner and a lifelong Mason at Lodge 34 Scottish-Right where he served as past Secretary and Master. He was of the Baptist faith. Frank is survived by his sons, Jim (Linda), Sam (Marcie), and Steve Gilliland; grandchildren, Robbie, Kelly, and Katie; and great-grandchildren, Anna Marie and Jesse. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Louise Hall Gilliland; and grandson, James "Jimmy" Frank, IV. The Funeral Service will be held at Victory Baptist Church on Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at 3:00 p.m. with the Reverend Herbert Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Iva City Cemetery. The family will be at their respective homes, and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 18, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Rainey Hospice House, 1835 Rogers Rd., Anderson, SC 29621.
