J B Jones, age 87, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 14, 2016, upon his death at Rainey Hospice House. He was surrounded by his beloved family. Born on July 7, 1929, in Anderson, he was the son of the late Rob Jones and the late Mary Hall Jones. For sixty-three years, he was the devoted husband of the late Ada Iulah Jones who died in 2015. He proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict Era. After serving in the Navy, Mr. Jones was employed for many years by Sears in Anderson. He later was a manager of Western Sizzlin Steak House in Anderson. J B was a Shriner and a member of Hiram Masonic Lodge # 68, York Rite, Hejaz Shrine Temple. Survivors include a son, Bob Jones and his wife, Patricia of Lawrenceville, GA; two daughters, Lynn Dechand and her husband, Paul of Belton, SC, and Pam Harris of Anderson; one brother, Ray Jones and his wife, Bonnie, of Townville, SC; two sisters, Blanche Hayes of Anderson and Ann King of Belton; four grandchildren, Amanda Jones, Alan Jones, Anna Wright, Lynsey McCoig; and a great-granddaughter, Emma Wright. In addition to his parents and his wife, Ada, Mr. Jones was preceded in death by a son, David Jones, and by several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held at the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Saturday, July 16, 2016, at 12:30 p.m., with Reverend Damion S. Hutchins officiating. Entombment will follow at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will be at the home of Lynn and Paul Dechand, 107 Dawn Drive, Belton, and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
