J.T. Palmer September 11, 1921 - December 24, 2012 Anderson, SC John Thomas Palmer, age 91, widower of Margaret Palmer, passed away on Monday, December 24, 2012 at Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home. Born in Townville, SC, J.T. was a son of the late George Eddie Palmer and the late Gertie Mae Burdette Palmer. As a young man, J.T. served in the Civilian Conservation Corps and proudly served his country in the United States Army. He retired as a brick mason and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his brother, Clayburn Palmer of Anderson, SC and his three nieces, Geri Kirkley, Terri Bruce and Angie Foster. Including his parents and wife, J.T. was predeceased by his brother, Henry Harold Palmer and his three sisters, Louise Wicker, Mae Belle Meredith, and Mildred Palmer. The Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 28, 2012 at 11:00AM in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with the Reverend Brandon Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Greenville, SC with Military Honors. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, December 27, 2012 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Flowers are optional.
