J.C. Terry Starr, SC J.C. Terry, age 79, of Starr, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2014, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Iva, SC, on January 10, 1934, he was the son of the late James Walter Terry, Sr. and the late Ludie Terry. He retired from Jackson Mill after 42 years of service. J.C. was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church in Iva, SC, but attended Gethsemane Baptist Temple. He is survived by a host of nieces and nephews and his close friend, Sara Brown. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 6 brothers, Waymon, Jake, Charles "Shot", Rev. James, Melvin and Floyd "Pete" Terry; and 7 sisters, Callie Mae Hicks, Marie Kilgore Smith, Ellen Darling, Edna Carey, Caro Reynolds, Louise Terry and Nettie Terry. The family will be at the home of Orr and Alma Kilgore, 105 Mary Street, Iva, SC, and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Sunday, January 12, 2014, from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. The Funeral Service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel with Reverend Sam Duncan and Reverend Mike McMillion officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Dr. John Doster and his medical staff for the care shown to J.C. during his illness.
