John Willis "Huck" Huckaby Sr., age 77, passed away after a brief illness, on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at AnMed Health Medical Center. For 42 years he was the husband of the late Marlene Simpson Huckaby. Born in Anderson, SC, on October 14, 1937, he was the son of the late John Henry Huckaby and Vermelle Martin Huckaby. He retired from J.P. Stevens Textiles with over thirty years of service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Iva. He is survived by his children, Melody Goode (Scott), Melinda Huckaby, John Huckaby Jr. and Jennifer Diebold (Brian); sisters, Elaine Huckaby Crawford (Bill), and Fredda Locke Crumpton (Jack); grandchildren, Jeff Goode, Johnnie Dickerson, and Luke and Grant Diebold; great-grandchildren, Marlie Claire Dickerson, and Brittany and Chandler Goode. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Huckaby Jordan; and a brother, David Lee Huckaby. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Iva with Reverend Jerry Gray officiating. Interment will follow at Iva City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church of Iva from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials in memory of J.W.
