JACK CROOK August 3, 1934 - April 17, 2006IVA, SCMr. Jack Bronson Crook, 71, husband of Doris Simpson Crook of 231 Old Bell Road, died Monday, April 17, 2006 at the AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson.Born in Hartwell, GA on August 3, 1934, Mr. Crook was a son of the late A. O. Crook and Eva Chimera Cawthon Crook. He was a former employee of Orr Lyons Mills with 22 years of service and later retired from Michelin Tire Manufacturing Company. He custom built guitars; loved blue grass music and played his guitar at many events over the years. Mr. Crook served in the United States Army.Survivors include his wife, Doris Simpson Crook of the home; son, Mike Crook and his wife, Vickie of Anderson; daughter, Emily Crook Jacobs and her husband, Bill of Pawleys Island, SC; sisters, Merle Lewis and Carol Walls, both of Anderson and two grandchildren, Jeremy Jacobs and Andrea McKee and her husband, Adam.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Frank, Dennis, Owen, C. J. and Joe and four sisters, Gladys Ethridge, Lucille Gaddis, Vernelle Hayes and Lillian Johnson. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at 3:00 pm at Poplar Spring Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. T. Jason Moss. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 18, 2006 from 6-8 pm. Mr. Crook will be placed in the church at 2:00 pm on Wednesday.The family will be at the residence.Flowers are optional.
