Jack was born in Greenville, SC and was the son of Wallace and Jeanette Porter Dean. He was predeceased by both of his parents and is survived by his loving wife, Joy Gaul Dean, of 56 years. He is survived by his 3 brothers, Donald Dean, Allen Dean, and Jerry Dean. He is also survived by his seven children, Robyn Dean Brooks (Jeff), Gina Dean Vavra (Chuck), Sherri Dean Grant (Tim), Benji Jay Dean (Linda), Andrew Monroe Dean (Kristine), Shawn Dean Laseter (James), and Tammy Dean Gonzales (Ruben), 26 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. Jack served the Lord in the ministry in South Carolina and Alabama. He was currently a member and served as a deacon at Oakwood Baptist Church in Anderson, SC. His desire in life was to glorify the Lord and to make Him known. His children wish to praise the Lord for his life of selfless love and sacrifice as well as his consistent example of Christ-likeness.The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 10, 2011 at 10:00 am at Oakwood Baptist Church with Pastors Andrew Dean and Benji Dean officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery in Liberty, SC.The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Thursday, June 9, 2011 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
