JACK DERRICK September 9, 1923 - September 20, 2006TAYLORS, SCMr. Jack Derrick, age 83, husband of Martha Harris Derrick of Taylors, SC, died Wednesday, September 20, 2006 in Greenville, SC.Born in Anderson, SC on September 9,1923, Mr. Derrick was the son of the late Gabe Derrick and Maggie Fowler Derrick. He was a United States Army World War II veteran having served in major battles in the European Theatre where he received several commendations for his service. He was retired from United Insurance Company and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Martha Harris Derrick of the home; a son, Bruce Derrick of Taylors; a daughter, Holly Derrick Durham of Westminster; three grandchildren, Trace Nix, Jacob Nix and Tabitha Durham and three nieces, Vickie Benson, Angelia Sheridan and Mitzi Lasher.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Charles Andrew Derrick and a sister, June Derrick Sheridan.The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 22, 2006 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home.
