Hiram Jackson "Jack" Hodges, Jr., age 79, of Anderson, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2017, at the Rainey Hospice House.
Born in Washington, DC, on July 10, 1938 he was a son of the late Hiram Jackson Hodges, Sr. and the late Margaret Lewis Hodges. He was a graduate of Northwestern High School in Hyattsville, MD and attended Wake Forest. Jack worked as an accountant with AT&T for more than 27 years, where he retired. He and his wife, the late Shirley Skinner Hodges were very active with Meals on Wheels-Anderson. He was a member of Skip-J Range in Anderson where he very much enjoyed target shooting. Jack was a member of Pope Drive Baptist Church and taught the Men's Sunday school class for more than 20 years.
He is survived by his children, Leon C. Hodges, of Anderson, SC, and Anne F. Barnes (Mr. Barnes), of Anderson; a brother, John Lee Hodges (Patricia), of Bel Aire, MD; a sister, Margaret Ann Cook, of Ripley, OH; 14 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Shirley Skinner Hodges.
There are no services planned at this time.
