Lewis, age 84, of the Garden House, 201 Edgebrook Drive, formally of 106 Lullwater Parkway, died on May 4, 2013, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born on May 17, 1928, in Loris, South Carolina, Jack was a son of the late Olin and Viola Lewis, and was the devoted husband of the late Carol Vaught Lewis to whom he was married for 61 glorious years. He attended Clemson University and was owner of Whitehall Garden Center in Anderson. Mr. Lewis was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Anderson, SC. Survivors include four children: Marilyn Terry and her husband, Newton, of Tampa, FL, Rachael Hentigan, and her husband, Michael, of Fernandina Beach, FL, Olin Paul Lewis , and his wife, Sue, of Clemson, SC, and Jeffrey Lewis and his wife, Debbie, of Honea Path, SC; and sisters: Nanette M. Marlowe of Loris, SC, and Sarah Johnson of Fairfax, VA. Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and his wife, Carol, Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters. A Funeral Service to Celebrate the life of Jack Lewis will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2013, at 11 AM at the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Batson officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, from 6 PM until 8 PM. In lieu of floral contributions, the family asks that memorials be made to the Good Samaritan Fund of St. John's United Methodist Church, 515 South McDuffie Street, Anderson, South Carolina 29624.
