Raymond John Moricz, age 83, of Anderson, SC, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at his home. Born June 27, 1939, in Manchester, CT, he was a son of the late Archie Moricz and Regina Barr Moricz. He was also preceded in death by his sons, Raymond John "Jack" Moricz, Jr. and Edward Gerrish; and daughter, Stacey Moricz. Jack was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He enjoyed bowling and fishing but nothing compared to spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Temple. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Edna L. Manning Moricz; sons, Ron Gerrish of Anderson, SC, and John Allen of Coventry, CT; daughters, Kellie Bittner and Bonnie Moricz both of Springfield, MO; brother, Richard Moricz of New Port Richie, FL; 10 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren; and his four-legged friend, Daisy. The funeral service will be held Monday, March 27, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Sam Duncan officiating. Entombment will follow.
