Jack Dale Thrasher, age 78, of Lincolnton, NC, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2022, at Atrium Health Lincoln. Born May 16, 1944, in Winston-Salem, NC, he was the son of the late Jack D. Thrasher and Mildred Lucille Kiger Thrasher. Jack was retired from Duke Energy with 30 years of service. He was a "jack of all trades" and an antique car enthusiast. He was very patriotic, loved to garden and collect vinyl albums. He was a life-time member of Salem Baptist Church in Lincolnton where he worked specifically with the youth and sang in the church choir for over 40 years. He loved animals but his whole family was the love of his life and he enjoyed doting over his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Brenda Cowart Thrasher of the home; daughters, Pamela Hurt (Kevin) of Clayton, GA, and Renae Thrasher Wilson of Greenville, SC; siblings, Judy Freeman (Dan) of Mooresville, NC, Wanda Ginn, Kenneth Thrasher (Teresa), and Danny Thrasher (Connie) all of Anderson, SC; grandchildren, Rebecca Daniels (Tyler), Josiah Hurt (Alyssa), Victoria McCrea (Phil), Grayson Downs (Larkyn), and Garrett Wilson; great-grandchildren, Arthur and Beatrice Downs, Evelyn and Noah Grace Daniels, and Alistair, Paisley, and Ellie McCrea; and his two cats, Bijou and Presley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Thrasher; and his faithful Border Collie, Joey. The family will receive friends Friday, July 15, 2022, from 12:30-1:30 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm in the Chapel with Rev. Kevin Hurt officiating. Burial will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery.
