THRASHER March 28, 1923 - July 13, 2006ANDERSON, SCMr. Jack Dempsey Thrasher, age 83, of 704 Bowden Road, Anderson, SC, husband of the late Mildred Lucille Kiger Thrasher, died Thursday, July 13, 2006 at the AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson.Born in Hart County, GA on March 28, 1923, Mr. Thrasher was a son of the late Bennie Austin Thrasher and Katie Davis Thrasher. He was a United States Army World War II veteran and retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas. He was also a member of Southside Baptist Church.Survivors include his children, Jack D. Thrasher and his wife, Brenda Cowart Thrasher of Lincolnton, NC; Richard W. Thrasher and his wife, Phyllis McCoy Thrasher of Anderson, SC; Judy Freeman and her husband, Dan Freeman of Mooresville, NC; Wanda Ginn and her husband, Jimmy Ginn of Anderson, SC; Kenneth Thrasher and his wife, Lynn Brown Thrasher of Anderson, SC; and Danny Thrasher and his wife, Connie Clark Thrasher of Anderson, SC; twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; brother Joe Thrasher of Knoxville, TN; sisters, Fannie Vickery of Anderson, SC and Sarah Manley of Columbia, SC.In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, July 16, 2006 at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Phillip McAlister. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Anderson, SC.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, July 15, 2006 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.The family will be at the residence.Memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church, 206 Hill Street, Anderson, SC 29624.
