Jackie Ray Adams, age 77, of Anderson, SC, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2024, at his home.

Born December 5, 1946, in Anderson, SC, he was a son of the late Walton S. Adams and the late Mary Sutherland Adams. He was preceded in death by his brother, David Adams.

Jackie was a truck driver by trade but was known for his many hobbies. He loved fishing, hunting and the outdoors in general. He loved riding motorcycles with his friends and family on and off road. If you did not see him on his motorcycle, you would see him on his horse, riding trails. Jackie also loved having a good laugh and spending time with his friends. Jackie was a dedicated member of several churches throughout his life where he served as a deacon, a leader of Royal Ambassadors Boys and a church bus driver. He was also a current member of Covenant Baptist Church.

Jackie loved his family dearly and spent many days with his grandchildren discovering life together. Being a Papa and a father brought true joy to his life.

Jackie is survived by his wife, Joy McCurley Adams of 59 years; son, Brian Adams (Beth); daughter, Amy Janssen (Paul); grandchildren, Megan Shea (Connor), Ethan Adams, Maggie Janssen and Brooks Janssen; his sister-in-law, Sandra Adams; and many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and cousins that loved him dearly.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 27, 2024, from 1:00 pm – 2:45 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at 3:00 pm at the chapel with Reverend Bill Rigsby and Reverend Steve Silvey officiating. Burial will follow at Old Silverbrook Cemetery.
