JACK KLODOWSKINOVEMBER 1, 1921 - NovemBER 2, 2007ANDERSON, SC Mr. Jacob (Jack) John Klodowski, age 86, of 311 Simpson Road, Unit F-5, passed away on Friday, November 2, 2007 at the Anderson Place Nursing Center after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. Born in the Bronx, NY on November 1, 1921, he was the son of John and Anna (Podstofka) Klodowsky. Being born in the shadow of Yankee Stadium, Jack became and remained a lifelong NY Yankee's fan. He was also an avid bowler, loved to dance and always enjoyed a good game of cards. Jack was a Veteran of World War II serving from 1942 ' 1945 in the US Army Air Corps. While a longtime resident of Long Island, NY Jack worked as a restaurant cook and manager. After retiring in 1984, he and his wife moved to New Port Richey, FL where they spent 20 years before relocating to Anderson, SC. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Ann; a son, John Klodowski and his wife Janet of Clemson, SC and a daughter, Catherine Wurtz and her husband Denis of Centereach, NY; five grandchildren: John Klodowski, Jr.of TX, JoAnn Armour of NJ, and Michael, Matthew and Gregory Wurtz of NY and three great-grandchildren: Rhiannon Klodowski, and Alessandra and Alexa Armour. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his brother Charlie Klodowsky. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, November 9, 2007 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church with the Reverend James N. Dubrouillet celebrating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum with Military Honors. A Prayer Service will be held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Thursday, November 8, 2007 at 4:00 pm with visitation following from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. In lieu of floral contributions, the family asks that memorials be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson SC 29621.
