Jacqueline Brooks Stewart, age 81, of Anderson, SC, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at her home. Born May 16, 1942, in Belton, SC, she was a daughter of the late Truman Lee Brooks, Sr. and Inez Darby Brooks. She was married for 56 years to Larry Stewart until his death in 2018. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Freddie Brooks, Billy Brooks, and Pete Brooks. Jackie worked in the textile industry and was an excellent seamstress. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, "GiGi", sister, and friend. She was a member of Neals Creek Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, Tony Stewart (Tamika Dendy); daughter, Michelle Pelfrey (Tommy); grandchildren, Crystal King (Cliff), Anthony Stewart, Ashley Chadwick (Tim), and Teriah Crabtree; great grandchildren, Caroline King, Thomas King, Charlotte King, Bryson Chadwick, Ladevyon Stewart, Amari Stewart, and A.J. Stewart; brother, Danny Brooks (Linda); sisters, Glenda Thomas and Debbie Brock (Carlton); sisters-in-law, Elaine Brooks and Martha Dempsey (Clyde); and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to especially thank Jackie's caregivers Susan and Anna Davis and Betty Collier for all the love and care provided. A graveside service will be held Monday, June 26, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Alex Henderson officiating. Family and friends may pay their respects and sign the Guest Register on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at The McDougald Funeral Home from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm.
