Obituary

Jacquelyn Giles Brown, age 93, of Iva, SC, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2026, at her home.

Born January 27, 1933, in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Frank L. Giles and Annie Mae Perry Giles. She was married for over 60 years to Grier Brown until his death in 2014. She was also preceded in death by her son, Michael G. “Mickey” Brown and brother, Jerry Giles.

Jackie was a faithful and devoted member of Iva ARP church. For sixty-eight years, she served her Lord and church family by playing wonderful melodies on the piano and organ at many church services. During her working years, she was employed with Guy Ford and retired from Ralph Hayes Toyota where she was a bookkeeper. Jackie was known for having a sweet and gentle spirit and was always very kind and gracious.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Gentry and her husband, Wayne; son, Stan Brown and his wife, Susan; daughter in law, Theresa Brown; grandchildren, Kevin Brown, Kyle Brown and his wife, Kate, Nathan Gentry, Kaitlyn Brown Jackson and her husband, Blake, Caroline Brown Campbell and her husband, Zac; and great-grandchild, Grier Jackson.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 19, 2026, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026, at 11:00 am at Iva ARP Church with Rev. Mike McMinn, Rev. Steve Hardy, and Rev. Dr. Boyce Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Iva City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Iva ARP Church P. O. Box 516, Iva, SC 29655 and Hospice of the Upstate 1835 Rogers Rd, Anderson, SC 29621.
