Jacob Allen Calhoun, age 36, of Anderson, SC, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2021. He was born September 15, 1984 in Rock Hill, SC, and was the son of Michael Allen Calhoun and Susan Timmerman Calhoun. Jake was a 2002 graduate of T.L. Hanna High School where he was a pitcher on the baseball team. He furthered his education at Anderson University graduating in 2006. He was a mental health counselor for the State Dept. of Mental Health for over 13 years. Presently, he was an ombudsman for the Appalachian Counsel of Governments. Jake was very social and never met a stranger. He was an avid Clemson fan, a good pool player, great cook and he loved music. Jake will be remembered by his family and many friends as a loving husband, father, son, brother, and a friend to all. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Rosa Lee Rivera Calhoun; daughter, Claire Frances Calhoun; step-children, Emma, Savannah, and Bentley; brother, Robert Michael Calhoun (Libby) of Wyckoff, NJ; nephews, Ben, Reed, Max and Luke; and step-granddaughter, Adalynn. Family and friends may pay their respects and sign the guest register on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, from 10:00am to 5:00pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with his uncle, Rev. Frank Duncan officiating.
