James G. Black, age 85, of Anderson, SC, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2022, at his home. Born April 10, 1937, in Anderson, he was a son of the late Griffin Black and Agnes Hunnicutt Black. He was married to Patsy Hardy Black until her death in 2009. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Bud Black; and sister, Linda Barrett. James was a pipe welder and was formerly employed with Daniels Construction. He enjoyed NASCAR and spending time with his family. He is survived by his son, Jimmy Black and his wife Susan; grandchildren, Justin Black (Kattie) and Heather Black; and 7 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday, January 6, 2023, from 12:00-1:30 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Travis Bryan officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to PAWS, 1320 US-29, Anderson, SC 29626. The family will be at their respective homes.
