James Michael Bryant, age 70, of Iva, SC, passed away Saturday, August 7, 2021, at Comfort Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born November 4, 1950, in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late William Amos Bryant and Macie McGill Bryant. James was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was an avid fisherman. He is survived by his son, Jamie Bryant (Shanon) of Evans, GA; brothers, Leon Bryant (Peggy) of Elberton, GA, and Ronald Bryant of Iva, SC; sisters, Barbara Bryant McCurry (William) of Iva, SC, and Lynette Melchior (David) of Tallahassee, FL; five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Marshall and Otis Bryant; and sisters, Frances Bray Gloss and Doris Smith. A graveside service will be held Thursday, August 19, 2021, at 10:00 am at Iva City Cemetery with Dr. James R. Gray officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Union Baptist Church, 703 Barnes Station Rd., Iva, SC 29655. The family will be at their respective homes.
