JIMMY CROMEROBITUARY W/ FLAGANDERSON, SCMr. James Melvin Cromer, age 51 of 207 Gilbert Street, died February 13, 2009.Born in Ypsilanti, MI, he was the son of Vera Burgess Godfrey and the late Charles A. Cromer. He served in the United States Marine Corps. James was a loving father and grandfather who will be greatly missed by his family.Survivors include his mother, Vera Burgess Godfrey of Rock Hill; daughter Jill Cromer of Easley; sister, Cindy Jenkins and her husband Bob of Rock Hill; two grandchildren, Jessica and Jaden Hayes of Easley; stepmother, Janet M. Cromer of Ypsilanti, MI; two half-brothers, Jeffrey Cromer of Venetia, CA and Jason Cromer of Ypsilanti, MI; and a half-sister, Libby Mayes of Milan, MI.In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Thomas Cromer and stepfather, Osborne C. Godfrey.A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, February 16, 2009 at 11:30 am at Forest Lawn Memorial Park officiated by the Reverend Jerry Parnell. Military Honors will be provided by the Upstate Veterans Honor Guard.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am.The McDougald Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
