DanielSeptember 2, 1922 - February 6, 2011TAYLORS, SC ' James 'Jay' Clifton Daniel, age 88, husband of Barbara Elam Daniel of 109 S. Banyon Court, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2011 at his home.Born in Bowman, GA on September 2, 1922, Mr. Daniel was a son of the late James Thomas Daniel and Obie Alice Starr Daniel. He was a United States Army World War II veteran having served in the European Theater and retired from the United States Air Force. After serving in the military; he moved to Greenville, SC and retired from Smith Dray Line with 20 years of service. He also worked for several years with the Carolina Mountain Water Company. He was a member of Faith Free Presbyterian Church in Greenville.Survivors include his wife of the home; son, Steve Daniel and his wife, Nancy and two grandchildren, James 'Jamie' Daniel and Matthew 'Matt' Daniel all of Taylors, SC.He was predeceased by ten sisters, and two brothers.A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at 11:00 am at Old Silver Brook Cemetery officiated by the Reverend Colin Mercer.The family will be at the residence and will receive friends immediately following the graveside service.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Free Presbyterian Church, 1207 Haywood Road, Greenville, SC 29615.A message of condolence may be sent by visiting www.mcdougaldfuneralhome.com.THE McDOUGALD FUNERAL HOME, Anderson.
