Obituary

James P. DeGeorge passed away on October 16, 2026, leaving behind a life marked by service, dedication, and a love of adventure.

Born in Waltham, Massachusetts, James proudly served in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he built a distinguished 40-year career in Supply Chain and Operations Management within the semiconductor industry. After decades of professional dedication, he retired and made South Carolina his home.

Retirement gave James the opportunity to enjoy the things he loved most. An avid golfer, he enjoyed time on the golf course, as well as boating, exploring new places and volunteering his time. He especially treasured traveling with his beloved wife, Susan, and volunteering for Meals on Wheels with her to deliver meals to those in need. These adventures created lasting memories and gave them many wonderful experiences to share.

James will be remembered for his years of service, his professional accomplishments, and his appreciation for the many adventures and experiences life offered.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Susan; his sisters, Rosalie Fontecchio and her husband, Lino Fontecchio, and Elaine DeGeorge; other family members and loved ones who will cherish his memory; and his beloved dogs, Bella and Chuck. James will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. May the memories of their time together bring comfort to his family and friends, and may his memory be a lasting blessing.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 29, 2026, from 2:00-2:45 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm. The committal will be held on Friday, October 30, 2026, at 10:00 am at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Meals on Wheels Anderson, 105 South Fant Street, Anderson, SC 29624.
