James Emmit Dunn, age 80, passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at the Rainey Hospice House.
Born in Pine Ridge, AL on February 19, 1938, he was the son of the late Johnnie Henry Dunn and the late Daisy Mae Helms Dunn. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. James was the owner and operator of United Service and Repair Company, which was established in 1976. He was active at the Freedom Center in Homeland Park. James will always be remembered as a compassionate and kind man.
He is survived by two daughters, Carol Loyd and her husband Dwain, and Melissa Dunn, all of Anderson, SC; a sister, Edna Cleveland, of Anderson, SC; and two granddaughters, Jessica Eckstrom and her husband Joe and Meredith Looney.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Harriet Brooks Dunn.
The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at the Freedom Center with Reverend Phil Sears and Reverend Bradley Bien-Aime officiating. Interment will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery with Military Honors.
The family will be at the home of his daughter, Carol, 103 Ripplestone Way and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
