James Scott Erickson, age 76, of Honea Path, SC, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Lindley Park Post Acute.

Born October 16, 1948, in Newberry, MI, he was the son of the late Evald S. Erickson and Gertrude Sylvia Kaijala Erickson. He was also preceded in death by one son.

James was veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving for many years until his retirement. He was a decorated Vietnam War veteran who was proud of his country, and his service. He was a man of strong character and was very straight forward. He was an avid Harley Davidson fan and loved his dog, Sapphire. As a young kid growing up on the farm, his favorite horse was Maggie. More than anything, James loved his wife Cecilia with all of his heart and he will be missed beyond measure.

He is survived by his wife, Cecilia Maria Sanez Erickson; 1 son; 2 daughters; and 11 grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 1:00 pm at M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
