James Thomas "Scaldy" Fields, age 68, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Belton, SC, he was the son of the late Joe David Fields and the late Clara Stowe Fields. He proudly served his country in the United States Marines during Vietnam. He attended both Tri County Technical College and Anderson College. He was a welder pipefitter. Scaldy was of the Baptist faith. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Dianne Browning Fields; three daughters, Renee Fields York, Clair Bloomquist (Randall), and Christina Jones (Clint); a brother, Ira Fields; three sisters, Josie Knight, Ollie Pitts, and Rebecca Brown; and four grandchildren, Jon Connor York, Allanah York, Andrew Jones, and Colton Jones. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Elaine Brown. The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Reverend Norman Black officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the home of his daughter, Renee York and will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Semper Fi Fund by visiting https://semperfifund.org/donate/.
