James Alan Fillingham, 85, of Anderson, SC passed away Thursday, August 15, 2024 at Rainey Hospice House.

Born July 6, 1939 in Albany, NY, he was a son of the late Ralph Henry Fillingham and Dorothy Schroeder Fillingham. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Linda S. Fillingham and second wife, Donna E. Fillingham.

James loved being a part of Vets Helping Vets. He was very involved at Grace Episcopal Church and the Kairos prison ministry. He loved remote control planes and drones and became a certified drone pilot in his 80s. He also enjoyed working on Adrino Computers. He loved his family with a side of dry wit, ice cream, apple fritters and all things sweet.

He is survived by his daughters, Susan Irene Fillingham and Sharon Fillingham Elwell; stepdaughter, Kirstiedawn Erskine; stepson, Nathan E. Zimmerman; sisters, Barbara Davis and Jane Smith; and two grandchildren, James Alan "Jac" Clark and Linda Lee Elwell Mercier and grandson-in-law, Michael Mercier.

The family will host a service on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Grace Episcopal Church with Father Jack Hardaway officiating. A reception will follow at the church at 2:00 pm. Burial will be held at Greenville Memorial Gardens, Greenville, SC, on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at 11:00 am.
