LOUIS FORRESTER September 25, 1928 - July 17, 2008ANDERSON, SCMr. James Louis 'Lou' Forrester, beloved husband for 59 years of Sara Field Forrester, having faithfully served his family, his church, his profession, and his community, accepted God's hand to serve in His everlasting life on July 17, 2008. He was born in Anderson County on September 25, 1928 to Marvin W. and Agnes G. Forrester, and was predeceased by his infant sister, Margaret.His daughters, Becky F. Whitmire, and husband, Jim; Patti F. Hinson; and Nancy F. Watson, and husband, Robby; and his grandchildren, John-Michael Cobb and wife, Sara; Jessica L. Hinson, Katie E. Hinson, William Louis Hinson, and Will R. Watson, Jr., survive him.Louis graduated from Easley High School in 1945 and then served his country in the U.S. Navy Air Corps in 1946 and 1947. He worked in the retail industry until entering the life insurance profession in March of 1958, and served this industry for fifty years. He was awarded the Chartered Life Underwriter Award in 1968, the highest-level designation in the life insurance profession, and taught CLU and LUTCF courses for about thirty years. He became an Estate Planner in 1969 and formed his own company, Financial Planning Associates, in 1976. He earned his Certified Financial Planner designation in 1980, his Investment Advisor designation in 1984, and was awarded the Life Underwriting Training Council Fellow designation in 1984. He was in Who's Who in SC and Who's Who in Financial Planning. He was awarded the Carroll H. Jones Award by the insurance industry in 1990. He was a charter member, as well as a past President of Life Leaders of SC. He was a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Round Table whose membership is recognized internationally as the standard of excellence in the life insurance and financial services industry.Louis served as President of the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce; was a member of the Board of Trustees at Anderson College; was a member of the Board of Directors of the Anderson YMCA; was a past President of the Anderson Rotary Club where he was recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow Award, as well as being active in numerous other civic and service organizations. He was Past Master of Clemson Masonic Lodge #254 A.F.M. and was a Mason for 50 years. Page Two: Obituary: Mr. J. He served as a deacon of the church and was the founder of the Faith Fund.
