James Nicholas Genovesino, age 71, passed away on Friday, September 22, 2017, at Linley Park Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. Born on September 12, 1946, he was the son of the late James Valleto Genovesino and the late Eunice Loftis Simpson. Geno graduated T.L. Hanna High School, Class of '65 with honors, continuing on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army for the rest of his career. He served two tours in the Vietnam War, receiving several commendations including two Purple Hearts and the Silver Star. After his military service, he returned to Anderson, having worked with several different companies including Moon Brothers Tile He attended Riverside Baptist Church. Geno is survived by his loving daughter, Kristen Sammons and her husband Kevin, of Charleston, SC and 3 grandchildren. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Friday, September 29 2017, from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. The Graveside service with military honors will follow at 1:00 p.m. at MJ "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery with Reverend Wayne Adams officiating.
