HAMPTONAPRIL 15, 1932 - SeptEMBER 28, 2008ANDERSON, SCJames Clyde Hampton, age 76, of 196 River Oaks Drive, passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2008 at Brookside Living Center.Born in Anderson on April 15, 1932, he was a son of the late Charles Lester Hampton and Velma Hampton. Mr. Hampton was a retired butcher having worked for both BiLo Grocery Store and Homeland Park Supermarket. He was a former member of Homeland Park Baptist Church and in recent years attended Landmark Freewill Baptist Church. He was a member of the Lions Club.Survivors include his son, James Randall 'Randy' Hampton; brothers, Frank Hampton and Herbert Hampton; sisters, Pearle Moore and Mildred Luellan; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.In addition to his parents, Mr. Hampton was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Galbert Hampton and a son, Michael Lee Hampton; a brother, Raymond Hampton and four sisters, Lois Jones Simpson, Cleo Thompson, Ruby Bowman, and Allie Fowler. He was also predeceased by a great grandchild, Matthew Drake Hampton.The Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home, conducted by the Reverend James Coley.
