ANDERSON, SC JAMES HAYNIE December 27, 1929 - August 22, 2012 Mr. James Haynie, age 82, of 511 Hill Street, Anderson, passed away on Wednesday, August 22, 2012, at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Alvin Haynie and the late Bertie Inez Smith Haynie. He was married for fifty years to his beloved wife, the late Willie Annell Baskin Haynie. Mr. Haynie was employed as a weaver at Appleton Mill, before being transferred to J.P. Stevens in Clemson where he retired after 50 years of employment. He was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Temple in Starr. Perhaps one of the qualities for which Mr. Haynie was best known is that he looked after what he had and kept it all clean. Survivors include a son, Paul Allen Haynie of Greenville; a daughter, Opallean H. Gentry of Anderson; a sister, Nancy Haynie Partain and her husband, W. Ray, of Starr; and 3 grandchildren, Kim Cason and her husband, Willis, Robert Gentry and his wife, Nicolle, and Roger Gentry. Also surviving are 6 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and his wife, Annelle, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Elaine Haynie, a son, Lamar Haynie, and 3 brothers, Leroy, Richard and D.A. Haynie. Funeral Services to celebrate and honor the life of James Haynie will be held on Friday, August 24, 2012, at 1 PM at the Chapel of the McDougald Funeral Home, with Rev. Ronnie Powell officiating. Interment will follow in New Silver Brook Cemetery. The family will be at the residence, and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Thursday, August 23, 2012, from 6 PM until 8 PM.
