James Patrick Lake, Sr., age 93, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at home.

Born June 18, 1931, in Ashtabula, OH, he was the son of the late Irvin Lake and Veronica Ferron Lake. He was married for 63 years to Berdina "Deena" Tisher Lake until her death in 2021. He was also preceded in death by siblings, Nancy, Claire, and Tony.

Jim was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict receiving a Bronze Star. He worked as an engineer with Tru Temper. Following his retirement, he worked for Anderson School District 5 as head custodian at Centerville Elementary School. He loved westerns, horses, and bull riding. He also enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and tinkering with just about everything. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

He is survived by his sons, James Patrick Lake, Jr. (Megan) and Mark Alan Lake; daughter, Beverly Ann Lake; grandchildren, Jennifer Rae Lake, James "Jaime" Lawton Werner, James Patrick Lake, III, and Lauren Ann Lake; and sister, Pat Taylor.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, from 6:00-8:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 1:00 pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Philips S. Gillespie as celebrant. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
