KIRBY January 12, 1929 - August 28, 2005ANDERSON, SCMr. James Furman Kirby, age 76, husband of Dorothy Irene Jones Kirby of 519 US 29 Bypass, Anderson, SC, died Sunday, August 28, 2005 at the Hospice House in Anderson, SC.Born in Greer, SC, he was a son of the late Charles Fred Kirby and Bessie Mae Harvey Kirby. He retired from Abney Mills after 35 years of service and later worked at Calhoun Elementary School, as a custodian for 15 years. He was a United States Army Korean War veteran and a member of the Anderson V.F.W. He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church.Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Irene Jones Kirby of the home; sons, Randy Kirby of Waterford, MI and Ricky Kirby of Anderson, SC; brothers, Carl Kirby and Bobby Joe Kirby, both of Anderson, SC; a sister, Elizabeth Simpson of Anderson, SC; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Barry Wayne Kirby; a brother, Vernon Aaron Kirby and a sister, Hazel L. Kirby.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home by the Reverends Mike Fitzpatrick and Kirt Mitchell.
