James "Jimmy" Lane, age 72, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2016, at AnMed Health Medical Center following a three year battle with cancer. Born on January 23, 1944, in Long Beach, CA, he was the son of the late Thomas W. Lane and the late Marjorie Lane. For twenty-six years, he was the loving and devoted husband of Colleen Lane of the residence. Mr. Lane was retired after forty-two years with PCS Nitrogen in Augusta, GA, as a shift supervisor. He proudly served his country in the US Navy. Jimmy was a member of Grovetown Masonic Lodge 730, and Sweetwater Baptist Church of North Augusta, SC. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed camping, fishing, and time with his family. In addition to his wife, Colleen, Mr. Lane is survived by five sons, Thomas Lane (Angie) of Appling, GA, Allen Benbow (Tammy) of Savannah, GA, Gabriel Lane (Cassy) of Martinez, GA, Jamey Lane (Lisa) of Martinez, and Scott Dedman (Tina) of Augusta, GA; three daughters, Donna Jacques (Randell) of Martinsburg, WV, Carrie Johnson (Kevin) of Iva, SC, and Julie Miller (Mark) of Evans, GA; a sister, Denise Purvis of McBean, GA; also surviving are nineteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. At Mr. Lane's request, there will be no memorial service.
