The McDougald Funeral Home2211 North Main StreetAnderson, SC 29621864-224-4343OBITUARY JAMES HARPER LONG March 2, 1943 - March 18, 2008IVA, SCJames Harper Long, age 66, husband of Lou Jane Jones Long of 213 Washington Street, died Wednesday, March 18 2009, at the AnMed Health Medical Center.Born in Iva, SC on March 2, 1943, Mr. Long was the son of the late Joseph Bruce Long and Mary Stella Gray Long. He was a 1963 graduate of Crescent High School and was retired from Clark Schwebel. He had also worked for Starr Mill for many years. He was a member of Iva Pentecostal Holiness Church and was presently attending North Anderson Pentecostal Holiness Church. Survivors include his wife, Lou Jane Jones Long of the home; son, Stephen Bruce Long and his wife, Tina of Anderson; daughter, Tammy Long Bowyer and her husband, Jeff of Starr; sisters Imogene Fields and her husband Charles and Thelma Lee Long, all of Iva; four grandchildren, Breanna Long, Joseph Long, Jared Bowyer and Hayden Bowyer.In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Hallie Gaines and a grandson, Joshua Luke Bowyer.The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at 3:00 pm at Iva Pentecostal Holiness Church officiated by the Reverends J. Floyd Stansell and Billy Pinson. Interment will follow in Iva City Cemetery.The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Friday, March 20, 2009, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Mr. Long will be placed in the church at 2:00 pm on Saturday.The family will be at the residence.Flowers are optional.
