James Clyde McAlister, age 73, husband of Opal Brown McAlister of 106 Twin Lakes Drive, died Thursday, May 24, 2007, at AnMed Health Medical Center.Born in Anderson County, Mr. McAlister was a son of the late Ernest McAlister and Lura Hammonds McAlister. He was retired from BASF and was a member of Cross Hill Church of God.He is survived by his wife, Opal Brown McAlister of the home; a son, James Michael McAlister and his wife Rhonda of Moravain Falls, NC; daughter, Sandra Gail Stadler of Palm Coast, FL; brothers, Willie McAlister of Georgetown, SC, Thomas McAlister of Kinard, SC, Melvin McAlister of Belton, SC, and Adger McAlister of Little Mountain, SC; sisters, Ida Campbell of Honea Path, SC and Mildred Umphrey of Savannah, TN; grandchildren, Brianne Stadler Mosteller of Iva, SC, John Stadler, Rick Stadler and Valerie Stadler of Palm Coast, FL, and great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Mackinzie Mosteller and Timberland Stadler.In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brothers, Wayne and Alvin McAlister and his sister, Mae Poole.The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2007, at 4:00 pm at Cross Hill Church of God officiated by the Reverend John Christmas and the Reverend Russell McAlister.
