James Lawrence McCarthy Anderson, SC James Lawrence "Jim" McCarthy, age 86, of Anderson, SC, passed away on August 4, 2014 at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Detroit, MI, on May 6, 1928, he was the son of the late Whitney Lawrence McCarthy and the late Regina Rajewski McCarthy. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Patricia Collins McCarthy; his children, Lawrence M. McCarthy and his wife Debbie, of Huber Heights, OH, Timothy J. McCarthy and his wife Teresa, of San Jose, CA, Mary E. Cooper and her husband Tony, of Beavercreek, OH, Christopher D. McCarthy and his wife Debbie, of Bellbrook, OH, Michael D. McCarthy and his wife Elizabeth, of Mountain View, CA, Gregory W. McCarthy, of Chandler, AZ and Kathleen A. Whisman and her husband Mark, of Centerville, OH; and ten grandchildren, Jim and Tom McCarthy, Stephanie and Daniel McCarthy, Jessica Cooper, Whitney McCarthy, Matt and Kate McCarthy, Ryan McCarthy and Jake Whisman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Skinner. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Ignatius Smith, OFM officiating. Entombment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
