James Lee Allen Motes, age 69, of Belton, SC, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024, at AnMed Medical Center.

Born November 7, 1954, in Belton, SC, he was the son of the late James Leon Motes and Emma Ruth Gambrell Motes. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary J. "Queenie" Shiflet Motes.

James attended schools in the Belton/Honea Path area and spent his career in the construction of tennis courts. He loved his fur babies and was a faithful member of Neals Creek Baptist Church.

He is survived by a sister, Wanda Faye Shearer of Savannah, GA, as well as many friends.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at 11:00 am at Neals Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jason Dorriety officiating.
