He was a native of Honea Path, SC, but had lived in North Augusta, SC, for most of his life before moving to Towns County, GA, in 2006. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Army as a 1st Sergeant. He had worked as a salesman for 23 years with HJ Heinz and the State of Georgia for 13 years retiring in 1982. He was a member of North Augusta First Baptist Church.He was the son of the late R.E. and Olivia Pearman Parker and the husband of the late Mary Williams Parker, who died November 02, 2005. He was also preceded in death by a son, Philip J. Parker.Surviving are a daughter, Judith Hennen of Beaufort, SC; a son, James Vernon Parker, Jr. of Hayesville, NC.A Graveside Service with military rites will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery conducted by the Reverend Wayne Watson.
