He was a retired brick mason and a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Snellville, GA.He is survived by his wife, Eva White Powell of the home; daughters, Angel Brown, Beth Powell and Karen Spruill, all of Snellville, GA; a brother, Roger Powell of Pendleton, SC; sisters, Alice Whitfield and Minnie Shirley, both of Anderson, SC; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2005 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home by the Reverend Larry Mize. Interment will follow in New Silverbrook Cemetery in Anderson, SC.The family will receive friends at funeral home on Wednesday, September 21, 2005 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
