BROCK March 30, 1945 - November 24, 2012 ANDERSON, SC Captain James Ray Brock, age67, of 2100 Millgate Road, passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Rainey Hospice House. Born in Anderson, he was the son of the late JC Brock, Sr. and the late Maggie Richey Brock. He was a dedicated police officer for over 27 years, earning the rank of Captain during his career. He was a Mason of the Ruff Lodge and a member of the Hejaz Shriners. James attended Gethsemane Baptist Temple. He is survived by his loving wife, Alexis Maria Raftakis Brock; a brother, John Brock, of Anderson, SC; sisters, Shelby Wilson and Mildred Barnes both of Anderson, SC; a step-son, Scott Pegram; mother-in - law, Mary Raftakis; sister-in-laws, Frances Rash, Cathy Poulos and her husband Pete, Joanne Erwin and her husband Mike; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, JC, Eddie, Wilton, and Raymond Brock, Virginia Brock, Ellen Hudson, Grace Burdette and Annette Davis; and his father-in-law, John Raftakis The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of the McDougald Funeral Home on Monday, November 26, 2012 at 11:00 am with Reverend Sam Duncan officiating. Interment will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery. Serving as Honorary Escorts will be the present and former employees of the Anderson City Police Department and members of the Hejaz Shriners. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, November 25, 2012 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
