James Manuel "Jim" Rapella, Jr., age 84, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2016 at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Cleveland, OH on March 21, 1932, he was the son of the late James M. Rapella, Sr and the late Angela Morello Rapella Mogren. James proudly served his country in the United States Navy on the USS Hailey-DD 556 during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a Sales Representative for Concrete Forming Systems where he later retired. He was a member of Boulevard Baptist Church He is survived by his loving wife, Helen Bowen Rapella; sons, Stuart James Rapella (Nancy) of Tampa, FL, James Micheal "Mike" Rapella (Robyn) of Yukon, OK, Brad Hand of Atlanta, GA and Erik Hand (Julie) of Anderson, SC; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild.. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Max-A-Million. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Joanna Miller. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Dr. Johnny F. McKinney. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 9:30 am until 10:30 am prior to the service.
