AUGUSTA, GA JAMES MARTIN CRAIG SECRIST February 27, 1961 - October 29, 2012 James Martin Craig Secrist, age 51, of 1612 Jones Bridge Road, Blackville, SC, passed away on Monday, October 29, 2012, at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA, surrounded by his loving children, Jonathan and Janie. Born in Columbus, OH, he was the son of the late Douglas Martin Secrist and the late Hilda Joanne Kidd Secrist. During his career Mr. Secrist held several security related positions, including work in the South Carolina Department of Corrections in Greenville and Anderson. He served as a security officer at Newberry College for a period. For several years he was a truck driver on long and short haul runs with various companies. Survivors include a son, Jonathan Michael Secrist of Anderson; a daughter, Janie Louise Secrist Hendricks and her husband, Jeremy, of Honea Path; a brother Christopher Secrist and his wife, Chanda, of Greenville; 4 sisters, Cindy Davis and her husband, Charles, Leesa Hughes and Amy Lynn Secrist, all of Greenville, and Sherry Lynn Secrist of Chicago, IL. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, Joy Elizabeth and Gavin Phillips; and Clayton, Nathaniel and Logan Hendricks. Private ceremonies will be planned by the family at a later time.
