James Simpson, age 86, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at his residence.
Born in Anderson, SC on April 16, 1930, he was the son of the late James Young Simpson and the late Mary Pearl Massey Simpson. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II and worked for many years as a machinist at Machine Parts in Anderson, SC. He was a member of North Anderson Pentecostal Holiness Church.
He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Gina Simpson; several nieces and nephews; two grandchildren, Rebecca Cabral and Misty Ward; and two great-grandchildren, Danielle and Blake Cabral.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Naomi Simpson; and a son, Roger Simpson.
The Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with Reverend J. Floyd Stansell, Jr. officiating. The family will gather for a time of visitation following the service.
